Queensland Drilling & Blasting Services is looking for experienced Blast Hole Drillers to join our growing drilling team.

We deliver drilling and blasting services across quarrying, civil construction, mining, infrastructure and major projects throughout Australia, with the majority of our current work located across Queensland and New South Wales.

This is a full-time opportunity for experienced drillers who take pride in their work, understand the importance of accurate drilling and want to work with a professional team across a variety of projects and ground conditions.

Flexible Roster Options

We operate across a wide range of projects, which means roster arrangements can vary depending on the site and location.

Roster options may include:

Monday to Friday
2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
2 weeks on / 1 week off
Other project-specific roster arrangements

We are looking for people who are comfortable working across different projects and roster structures.

Mechanical Fitter – Drill Rigs & Light Vehicles
Full-Time Permanent | Field & Workshop Based
Queensland Drilling & Blasting Services is looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team, supporting our growing fleet of drill rigs, light vehicles and associated equipment.

This is a full-time permanent position combining field-based maintenance, breakdown support and workshop work. You’ll play an important role in keeping our drilling operations running safely, reliably and efficiently across our projects.If you’re a practical, experienced fitter who understands heavy equipment and enjoys diagnosing problems rather than simply replacing parts, we want to hear from you.

Your responsibilities will include:
Servicing, maintaining and repairing surface drill rigs
Maintenance and repairs on company light vehicles and support vehicles
Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and equipment faults
Attending field breakdowns and carrying out repairs on site
Completing scheduled preventative maintenance
Conducting equipment inspections and identifying developing faults
Hydraulic system inspection, diagnosis and repair
Engine, drivetrain, cooling and mechanical system repairs
Replacing worn or damaged components
Supporting drill crews with equipment-related issues
Assisting with major repairs and component change-outs
Maintaining accurate service and maintenance records
Ensuring equipment is maintained to a high operational and safety standard
Working with the maintenance and operations teams to minimise equipment downtime
Keeping workshop, vehicles, tools and work areas organised and maintained

We’re looking for someone who is mechanically capable, reliable and comfortable working independently in the field when required.

Ideally, you will have:

Relevant mechanical trade qualification
Experience working as a Mechanical Fitter, Diesel Fitter or similar
Experience maintaining heavy machinery or mobile plant
Experience with drill rigs highly regarded
Strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding skills
Experience maintaining and repairing light vehicles
Ability to diagnose faults and determine practical repair solutions
Understanding of preventative maintenance practices
Ability to work safely around heavy mobile equipment
Good communication and record-keeping skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Current Australian driver's licence
Willingness to travel to project sites when required

Experience within drilling, blasting, quarrying, mining, civil construction or heavy equipment maintenance will be highly regarded.
